Perhaps some of us were struggling with more serious problems. May be your difficulty has do with alcohol or any damaging stuff. Things that can alter your mind or enslave your life. And you're thinking "why can't I stop?" Why is it that no matter what effort we exert just to stop our addiction it doesn't seem to work. We tried to stop, in fact for a few months we actually quit. It was tough. But the stopping didn't last long. Finally we went back to our old habit and despite keeping things in moderation we still can't stop. Why do you think this things happen to us? how can we break our addiction to something?

Change your patren of life. Change what you do. If your hungry eat, angry geet unangry, lonely be around others better if they are not drinkers, and if your tired sleep. These are only ideas you might change to a softer more natural form of relaxation. Great post pm me anytime. :)

Great info here, Changing patterns in one's behavior (whatever it is, from the food you eat to how you tie your shoelaces) encourages the brain to make other changes, in other behaviors. With enough changes in general, addiction can be 'attacked' in this indirect way, sometimes with great success. I've once read of a psychologist that prescribed such changes that break mental patterns, EVERY DAY, for people to LOSE WEIGHT. And most of them did! If we allow the brain to re-take control, to re-focus on the present moment, and let go of the past situations, then it will adapt to this present, and that usually includes letting go of old addictions. Peace :)

hello, there are a lot of people around the world who are struggling in their lives about the addictions that there in. it is very easy to get addicted to certain things but it is indeed very tough to get out of them. so it is not only the job of that person concerned but also of some other people like his family and friends and also those who love him take the combined responsibility to get him out of that disaster. and more than that the person concerned should put concreted efforts to get rid of that addiction. have a good day here at my lot.

I guess doing yoga, hearing healing music, reading and talking as well as listening more and more religious things can help to be positive. After having positive thoughts one can strongly stick to their decision that he/ she wants to leave such addiction and will make it.

I was an arcade games addict back in college. I even went to the arcade shop even it when it's still closed. It made me broke and went to school school without my allowance. So i thought this should be stopped. It took me a year. I wrote down the number of days i missed going to the arcade shop and my addiction was turned into addiction on writing down my misses so i guess this addiction is way better than my addiction to arcade games.

most of us are addicted to different things. it may sometimes bring us trouble. i think people are addicted to something they enjoy doing because they got addicted to it, in the first place, because they keep on doing it over and over again. addiction also has different levels. i think one can break his addiction if the will initiates from himself. nobody could help him if he does not have the will to stop it. the decision should be tough and he should be determined in doing it or else, he will be stuck with such addiction for the rest of his life.

I found the best way to break an addiction is to form another habbit to get the addiction overlaid, for an example, sports maybe a good way for PC game addictors, and also good for girls with eating disorders who tend to eat more than they can consume and so on. most addictions are kind of 'feeling of emptiness' to feed in the time gap of one's life, one should make new arrangements for themselves. for those fried-stuff lovers, to replace with vegi maybe difficult, but they can always start with some high fiber foods. and always reward yourself once you achieve the first stage so that you could be more confident to go into the next stage.

I guess its all in the mind. If one really wants to, one can definitely stop. 3 of my friends have quit smoking completely. It was a bit tough in the beginning but when you are determined, nothing can tempt you back into it. Keeping your mind occupied with some that interests you, helps a lot in the initial phases of quitting. Like indulging in sports, gardening or any other hobby activities
