Have you played with bot programs before?

May I know how does it work? I'm curious what a bot is capable of. Can you assign the username of a bot to anything? How to setup a bot program so that the PTC site think that they are clicking at different IP addresses? I'm trying to understand the capabilities of bots. LOL Don't worry. I don't plan to use them to cheat. This knowledge is important if I ever want to start my own PTC.
