You're the only one who answered the person's discussion... 
How would you feel if that were the case? Would you be happy or would you think it's because the person had no other choice?
Personally, I'd still be happy... because the person still had the choice not to give out a best response award right?

Aside from the choice not to give out the best response award, i guess the reward itself is by trying to give your best shot at the discussion where nobody seems to care yet. You response may somehow tell the person who created the topic that his/her topic is not that bad afterall and that's enough to keep him/her in a positive mindset and enough to give you the best response award. Like the way you deserved it, he/she deserved to be responded too.

Correct... I like your way of thinking modstar my friend. Your answer would give someone hope that their discussion isn't really a mess after all.

Quite Frankly I wouldnt mind this at all I would still feel proud that I had the best response and I would say hey add another best response to my list but thats how I would feel even though its a lot better getting a best response to more then 10 questions lol.

I have had that happen to me! I was all excited! I thought I must have done a good job of answering the question! And then I found out that I was the ONLY one who answered the question! Even so, like you said, they DO have the option to NOT mark a best response, so, I must have had a pretty good answer for them! :)

LORL that happened to me JUST today XD lorl it was so funny, I was feeling so proud until I realized I was the only one, but it is still funny, so I'm glad they gave it to me, no matter what the real reason was :P

I wouldn't mind to be honest as I have some discussions with few responses that I haven't awarded BR so the person may have chosen to wait or not award it but gave it to you...
