Do you know that there is an illness where a person is addicted to shopping?

I was watching Jessica Soho's program last night and she tackled an issue about those persons who are addicted to shopping. I never knew that there are really some people who are addicted to shopping. That is actual addiction where there are some people who just shops and buys things even if they don't need it just to satisfy their obsession. A girl had even destroyed her married life because of this disorder. I examined myself and I'm glad I don't think I'm already an addict. I just like to shop but I am not compulsive and as long as I can still hold on and think before I buy, I do it. What about you? Have you tried assessing yourself?

Hi there my friend. I have read a book on the subject, and although it's funny, the subject is a shopaholic girl and it's written by Sophie Kinsella - it's a great book. Anyway back on topic, the illness is because the person can't stop shopping even if she / he exceeded his credit card limits.

I have watched it last saturday. and yes i tried assessing myself if i'm already a compulsive buyer...there were times i can't control myself buying stuffs that's not necessary and after that i feel guilty coz it ruined my budget. i wish i could cut that before it becomes an addiction. keep cool!

it is something i have heard to.actually it is mental illness. when there are many things in life that are making one depressed and all, people are looking towards shopping which gives them momentary happiness.

I believe they call it shopoholic, I used to think that I had a problem to so I started watching my spendigng habits. I only go out during sales mostly and try to set limits to how much I can spend. I am now saving more money then I used to and not buying as much unless I absolutley need it.
