Oh boy, can you read this without choking up?

This is a poem a wife left for her husband to read after she'd passed away. Did it touch you as much as it did me? When tomorrow starts without me and I'm not there to see, If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me, I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today, While thinking of the many things we didn't get to say, I know how much you love me as much as I love you, And each time you think of me I know you'll miss me too, But when tomorrow starts without me please try and understand, That an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand, And said my place was ready in heaven far above, And that I'd have to leave behind all those I dearly love, But as I turned to walk away a tear fell from my eye, For all my life I'd always thought I didn't want to die, I had so much to live for and so much yet to do, I seems almost impossible that I am leaving you, I thought of all the yesterdays the good ones and the bad, I thought of all the love we shared and all the fun we had, If I could relive yesterday I thought, just for a while, I'd say goodbye and kiss you and maybe see your smile, But then I fully realised that this could never be, For emptiness and memories would take the place of me, And then I thought of worldly things that I'd miss come tomorrow, I thought of you, and when I did my heart was filled with sorrow, But when I walked through heaven's gates I felt so much at home, When God looked down and smiled at me from His great golden throne, He said, "This is eternity and all I've promised you, Today you're life on earth is past but here it starts anew, I promise no tomorrow but today will always last, And since each day's the same there's no longing for the past, But you have been so faithful so trusting and so true, Though there were times you did some things you knew you shouldn't do, But you have been forgiven and now at last you're free, So won't you take my hand and share my life with me?" So when tomorrow starts without me don't think we're far apart, For everytime you think of me I'm right here in your heart.

That is a very touching poem, so sweet, it reminds me to live every day as though it is my last because you never know if it will be or not. I have never thought of leaving any writing for my partner as he keeps telling me that he will go first. I think of this occasionally but there is nothing I can do. I just hope he lives a lot longer than he thinks he will.

It's always too late when we lose someone to say the things we should have said. Maybe we should all write a poem now so our loved one will know how we feel.

Hi jackgym... This is really a nice poem... It's so sad but it gives encouragement to those who are left behind... Sigh. I particularly like the last part "So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart, For everytime you think of me I'm right here in your heart." Thanks for sharing... I'm really touched.

Hi rosedust, if anything happened to my wife I don't think I could read this, it's just too sad. Not for a long while anyway.

OMG, I'm bawling. That is sooooo sad. I think I will have my husband read it, he will for sure cry!!! That has got to be the saddest thing ever as I could see saying those things and hearing them for anyone. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!

If your husband is like me, he will cry. I'm glad you liked it, even though it's so sad.
