The laptop, like most things, is a personal choice. I can tell you though that we have owned many types until we bought our first Dell. Now, that is all we ever buy. You can order it and they help you design exactly what you need for what you are using it for...then they custom load it for you and ship it to you in a matter of days. We have never had bad luck with the Dells and the service people are so nice.

Well I am inclined to agree with oldboy that either Dell or a HP would be the best. Both have excellent after sales service and backup, which is an important consideration really, particularly living where you do hope. You will find though that the Dell ones are probably cheaper than the HP, although there are times when HP offer excellent cash back offers, which does make them competitive at those times. It all depends on whether you are prepared to wait, if you don't have one already that is. Our son is buying a new one before heading back overseas and those are the 2 brands he is thinking of. He can get service and backup on both of them, regardless of the country he is in, even if he buys it here in Australia. :)

This is an old discussion now but in case you are still looking then think you should look at Hewlett Packard as they do put out a really good computer .......... and the support is great. The other one is Dell ....... they have some awesome deals plus their support is good too. With Dell you cannot actually see them in operation though .... most of the stuff they sell is through email or phone orders ........ delivery to your door though. Get the best one you can for the money you have ....... that is the one that will really suit you and it would be my first choice.
