Being a listener is valuable throughout life, well what about being a talker? A talker is good if you're trying to get a point across, but sometimes we have to learn to listen! Most times, we are so busy trying to be heard, we forget to listen! Listening is a skill that doesn't have to be learned, but what to listen for is crucial. It's almost like reading, you have to pay attention and listen attentively to understand what a person is saying. Listen to tones, points that are accented in the explanation or conversation! What a person is telling you, may not be the purpose of the conversation! Like police officers, they have to listen when doing an investigation to figure out what the person is saying or what their intent is! Judges have to listen to figure out whose telling the truth, or whose reasoning i more feasible! They are many other professions that are great examples of being a good listener, but which are you? Deep thought person. So you're also a thinker! So are you sure ur not thinking while they're talking..lol? Just kidding, must be very pretty, for some silly reason or another, people still think pretty women are self centered and have nothing too intelligent to say! That's crazy.... Taripre$

listening shows your patience and caring side; lets them know you're into what's being said! Listening gives you something meaningful to say when you talk! Taripre$

I used to be a listener all the time. But after growing old, I became a talker during some conversations. And I'm glad to find that others do consider my suggestion as their guide. So, I should say: be a listener or talker in right way and right time.

i have always thought of myself as much as a talker and listener. i've been known to my friends as a shoulder to cry on, and my teachers think i'm as curious as a cat. so while i try to voice out my opinions and feelings in any form i know, by writing or speaking, i also have all the patience to hear out other people's ideas and concerns. i love to listen and give pieces of advice if needed.

Great point, we all can be empathetic listeners (empathetic or sympathetic? Whatever, both:) Some people just want you to listen to them, so why not give them that need? Taripre$

that is an interesting question that i have never actually thought about. i think i am more of a listener than a talker although it depends who i am around. if i am around my close friends i am definitly a talker, but if im just there i am more or less a listener.

Nice spin, putting it in an exact situation! I would like to think most people are listeners, then again, I know plenty of talkers, so it makes me a more effective listener! Taripre$

You have to be a talker to be a listner, but you don't need to be a listener to be a talker. I'm a listner , so i'm also a talker. A good listner will always ask questions, and add comments to what is being said to get a response, so that they can better communicate. Someone that doesn't talk isn't really listening, they're twisting your words into what they want them to mean.

Very good point, I couldn't have said it better myself! Asking the right questions always lead to the answer you're looking for. Prodding and pulling, poking and digging, it always works, even on professional schemers! Taripre$
