Does it matter? I mean, other than having people like what you have to say, how is it beneficial to me?

I am not sure exactly, but most probably it has to be related to the payment, I guess. This is because I have a mylot friend who hasn't achieved a ten yet, and he posted a lot of responses but still very difficult to earn. My marks and his marks are not very far away but I earn a lot more than him. It makes me think maybe the reputation or the star really differentiate us from the payment side. This maybe true and maybe not, I am just guessing actually. I suggest that you write a letter to the mylot administrator so that they could clarify things for you. Have a nice day!

Yes, I think it is about that too. We don't know how actually the payment works, so we try everything which is thinkable so that we could get the most payment from here. But it is a good thing too, because only the most creative and hardworking can get the most payment here. It gives benefits to us too, because if everyone is given the same award, it wouldn't be fair because efforts from different persons differ.

Thanks, I'll do that. Do you happen to know why it seems to be such a secrative thing; the whole earnings process and how they determine what amount to be paid? I would think they would want to shae their process with people in hopes they might be more inclined to post and get referals. Any ideas?

By people selecting the + or - sign next to your discussions/posts. From what I read, it is supposed to be based on if you feel the discussion was interesting, and if a remark was valid to a discussion - not whether you agree with the person or not - just did it make a positive contribution.

Though it doesn't matter as you get more friends and become well known here. But it is there always next to you teasing you and reminding of your reputation. It sure is very tempting and in your heart of hearts you always try to keep your reputation at it's best obviously.

It's just a guide to how people think you contribute. If you're earnings concerned, it means nothing, just a guide, and thats it.
