Raking the Lawn - who waits until the leaves are done falling?

We have woods behind our house. In years past, I would rake up a huge pile for the kids to play in. Now that they are older, I just am not in the mood to do multiple raking. My neighbors rake constantly, as if they want their yards to be spotless. I just do not care about it. I figure I can get it all done at once. At least I do not have to bag them. I put them on a tarp and drag them into the woods, where the deer and snow will smash them down. Anyone else wait?

Where I lived before this month, in Northern Indiana, you couldn't wait until all of the leaves were done falling to rake. The main reason for that was, it would start snowing and you wouldn't get a chance to rake. Of course, I did that a few times in the 15 years that I lived there. LOL I myself prefer to rake a little here and a little there and if it all gets done before the snow falls then good. If not, we'll just have to take a look at it in the Springtime and see what we can do. Hope you are enjoying the Fall. Have a great day!

You have a good point about not waiting. If we get an early snow, I am in trouble! Thanks for the reply.

hahaha!! I feel the same way, i am using tarp to drag the leaves out.. but it feels annoying when I've done my raking, there are lots of leaves again. it is very impossible to make our yard spotless during fall..

Those who wait til the leaves stop falling to rake will be waiting til next fall.
