bottled water vs tap water

Does anyone really believe that bottled water is better? Here in North America anyway tap water is decent and fortified with fluoride. Can anyone justify paying for these so called "spring" waters that are actually not. Plus what about those chemicals leeching into the water from all that plastic which isn't exactly environmentally friendly. Evian spelled backwards is Naive!

Hi wallyrae I do duy the bottle water but that is because I have well water and of coruse it couldnt be just plain well water or even white sulfer water it has to be BLACK SULFER no its not bad for you it auctually has a ton of vitimans and minerals that you wouldnt get from other waters but the smell it smells like rotten eggs I have gotten used to it for showers and even brushing my teeth but I just cant bring myself to drink it, As for bottle water being better in some cases I believe it is better than tap water When you have city water you have a big chance of chemcials getting in that can cause a lifetime of problems for instance several years back there was a case in tennesse where the water was so contamined that it caused several children to be born with clefts so yes I believe you benefitfrom spending the extra money on bottle water in some cases but I also believe you should test your tap water regulary to be on the safe side

tap water here is nasty! sometimes it is even slightly brown in color. and if you let a glass of tap water sit for about 15 minutes then hold it up to the light, you can see so much floaters and sediment at the bottom that you want to gag at the thought of having been drinking that! we always buy bottled water from the store. it is more expensive and yeah the bottles arent exactly good for the environment, but our tap water is just too gross. though i have been thinking of getting one of those filter things you keep in the fridge. i just dont know if its worth it, we drink a lot of water in our house and i cant even get ppl to refill the damn icecube trays, much less keep a pitcher full of water!
