Honolulu Zoo

During my last trip to Hawaii I was determined not to sit around waiting for my husband to finish work. I normally dislike venturing out in unfamiliar places on my own but really wanted to enjoy my trip. I spent a day at the Honolulu Zoo. It was about two miles from our hotel so I walked there. I loved this Zoo. It was very clean and the animals all looked well cared for. Most of the animals were housed in very natural environments. When I was young if you went to the zoo all animals were in cages. I am so glad this has changed for the most part. One of my favorite sites was the giraffes and zebras. They were in the same area. It looked just like a scene out of Africa. I sat on a bench and spent a good while just watching these magnificent animals. This zoo is a wonderful place to explore.

I used to travel to Honolulu with my husband while he was there for work. But I have always enjoyed venturing out and seeing things on my own. I never got to the Zoo in Honolulu, there was just so much else to do and I couldn't get it all in.
One of my favorit places on Honolulu was Foster Botanical Gardens. Beautiful place!!!

I actually did visit the Foster Botanical Gardens. It was an incredible place. I have some great photos from there.

The Honolulu Zoo is kept in very good condition at all times. Hawai'i like the Hawaiians care for all of their animals so it is not surprising that the Honolulu Zoo would be very clean and that the animals are well taken care of. If you go back now you will also find that Honolulu Zoo allows the customers to spent the night in the zoo. There are now night tours and a place where a group of people can sleep and are served meals and snacks.

i grew up in hawaii so i've been to the zoo so many time. i've seen better ones like the San Diego Wild Animal Park. But for the size of the honolulu zoo its nice. i remember when they built that African experience thing there and i always remember the first thing you see when you go in are the flamingo's.
