When I was a little girl my father brought me to the national library. In the library he showed to me all the books that I can read and there are so many of them. He told me to choose whatever books I want and I can bring them home to read. So I got very excited because it was the first time that I know such a place like a library. I chose several books and my father didn't object even a little bit. From that moment on, I fell in love with books. My father often brings me to the bookstall where they sell second hand books and he told me to take whatever books I want. I felt very happy and when I went home I read all the books until the end. Maybe you can use this approach too. Or you can show a good example by reading regularly in front of her. I believe she will follow eventually.

you have to encourage your daughter to read books, by giving her the books which she is interested into. and also there are many ways to keep the reading habbit like on internet, newspapers and so on and this habbit too will keep her into reading and it is good that she does news paper reading daily as she is benefitted by reading and also she gets some awareness. but there are a few people like me who dont go into books more and than i think it is difficult for you to convince her to read books as it has to in her interest.
