I'm sure that all countries have their special and unique dishes. There also some that have their own exotic foods. In an archipelago like the Philippines, there is surely more than one exotic dish you'll find in each of its islands ( more or less 7,100 of them). I have already tried a few of them. I have eaten fried snakes, frogs and monitor lizards and surprisingly, they tasted like or even better that chicken! There are also dishes with insects as the main ingredients but I still don't have the stomach for those kinds of stuff. How about you guys? Have you tried dishes that are out of the ordinary? the exotic ones?

I was raised in the province of Quezon. My father owns a 25 hectare fishpond there and I have fond childhood memories in that province. One is when I have to eat something and find it very delicious only to find out in the end that it's a wild animal. I remember eating monkey when I was 6 years old. My mom cooked it the usual adoo way and it tass so good although the meat is a little bit robbery. One of the best I tasted was "palaka" and "bayawak" that taste like chicken. I have also tried eating "daga" well, the daga you find in the ricefields and the rice-eating ones so they' re clean. and of course tapang usa whose meat is also very robbery and dark. My dad would usually go hunting, that's his past time and he would bring home birds, big lizards and deer and monkeys that my mother would cook. Imagine???
