Here's the Story. I'm from Samar, Philippines, last December i was invited to attend a baptism and the location is Manila, that time is passenger season i have no choice, i take a route by Bus and sad to say, i wasn't able to ride in an air con bus it was fully book, i take the ordinary bus. Then suddenly an old woman came in, with her is two teenagers, then the two teenager left the bus, the bus now will leave the terminal, as we continue traveling, we ask the old woman who's with her, and she replied she alone, we are all shocked, and we found out that the old woman was 85 years old, and she has 2 large baggage, and we noticed that she wears a small note around her neck stating an address, we talk to her, and ask her who's the two teenagers the one who bring her to the bus station, she said it was her granddaughters, and one of the passengers reacted, the passenger said that, in the bus station, she ask the two teenagers on what is their relationship on that old lady, the two reply "nothing", is seems that the two teenagers, denied their grandmother and let their grandmother travel alone, and the fact that it's 24 hours travel from Samar to Manila, and we also found out that the old lady has only 320pesos in her pocket for found out concluded that after reaching manila, we will again travel to other place other place part of Manila. And we counted her money, and its not enough, for food and for travel. The said to us, that she is happy because she is free with tears in her eyes, she said, she was treated like a prison by her daughter, she has a pension because she is a retired teacher, but only her daughter benefits the pension. The old lady says that, she was set free by her daughter because she is shouting and crying to set her free. All the passengers in that was silent, some with teary eyes. We give food to the old lady and small amount. And we reach manila, all the passengers will to go on there own, but the old lady is alone, we decided to bring her to the police station and talk to the police of the situation of the old woman. This story happened last December 2007, but until now I'm thinking to that lady, lots of questions in my mind, she is okay and happy? is they treat her will? I may ask, how do you feel? if you're one of the passengers on that bus, what would you do?

if i am in that bus, definitely i will feel the same. i will hate her daughter for mistreating her, and her grandchildren for denying her as a family. but we can't judge them just like that, what i stated there are just initial reactions of a normal individual. i think it'll even be unfair for her daughter to be judged just like that without hearing her side too. but of course we can't avoid to be worried to the old lady. why didn't you give your contact number to the police? that way, you will know where they send the old lady too, or even pay a visit to her if time permits.

Yes, i get the name of the old lady and i tried to locate its relative here in Samar, because her family name is familiar. The old woman is 85 years old, whatever the reason behind, it's not good for her to travel alone by her own at that age. They don't have any consideration for the old lady? they don't even think of her safety. I was raised by my grandmother and i really do admit that most of the time she is unfair to me, i don't have freedom that time, but never came to my thoughy that i will dump and don't take good care of her in the future.

That was very nice of you... YOU DID THE RIGHT THING! Hope there are so many good persons like you and the rest of the passagers in that bus. God bless you all. I guess I would feel sorry for the old lady as well and do the BEST I could to help her out. And afterwards... I will always include her in my prayers... because God can help her much better. :) Wish to have a great friend like you. :) KUDOS to you bro.
