Curriculams in Engineering

I have a feeling what subjects we are learning in Engineering is always old theories. Is because of the people behind making curriculam are old heads and lack expossures to new developmenys since they are only in the teaching areas. The orintation training they get are also prety out dated. If some thing in this area is not done we in India are able to learn only the old stuff. I was told by my sister who just finished her PG in medicine also of the similar openion.
