Religion was created by man to keep him from sin and make him tread the path of progress and to bring peace of mind. However, today religion has become the single biggest cause of conflict. The religious sentiments are exploited by religious heads and poiticians for narrow political gains and people are divided along religious lines. Would there be more peace in this world if there was no religion?

I still believe that religion plays a big role in a society. I believe that religion is created because miracles (and the rising of the sun) can not be explained by a person as to who have done such. Thus, the importance of religion.

I think that there is a place in today's society for religion, although it does cause a lot of conflict, but this is nothing new! People in power will alwys abuse it, it's an unfortunate side of human nature that power corrupts. I do believe though that for those people who have sincere and genuinely strong religious beliefs it is a huge source of strength for them and helps them to get through life, which can only be viewed as a good thing. Sociologists have studied religion for years and they found that every society had some form of religion, no matter how primitive, it seems that society needs religion not only as a way of setting down rules and guiding children, but also so they have something to thank when things go well and something to blame when things go wrong, religion also serves as a way of uniting a community. It is unfortunate though that throughout histroy religion, which should in theory bring good and happiness, has been the cause of too many wars and battles to mention. xxx

A religion is a set of tenets and practices, often centered upon specific supernatural and moral claims about reality, the cosmos, and human nature, and often codified as prayer, ritual, or religious law. Religion also encompasses ancestral or cultural traditions, writings, history, and mythology, as well as personal faith and religious experience. The term "religion" refers to both the personal practices related to communal faith and to group rituals and communication stemming from shared conviction... in today world the significance is gradually decreasing due to terrorism n other evils of the society!!

I've loved my religion and liked being a part of it. All the religions teaches us good things and makes us learn values and morales. It preaches about the existence of god and what good we should do and what we should't. Religion is ofcourse significant. But I don't like diving people in the name of religion. After all we are born humans!! Cheers

For me, religion is still significant today. As we all know religion allows all of us to keep our faith in God, to keep our hope in God inspite of all the hardships that the world is experiencing now. Through our religions, we still hope that there will be better future for all of us even though war and conflicts are present.
