when reading, where do you think does the meaning come from?

does meaning come from the text/author or from the reader?

I believe it comes from both. The author conveys the meaning behind his/her thoughts through the words he/she writes. It's up to the reader to derive from those words what meaning the author is conveying but it's also possible for the reader to derive a different meaning from those words than what the author may have intended.

I agree with dogsnme. I also believe that some authors leave some specifics out so that the reader can use their imagination.

Hi there magic slate. I believe that the meaning of what you read can come for the author only, or from both the author and the reader this depending of course of what kind of material you are reading.
