why is football not popular in india

Hi arunkukar, We cannot say foot ball is not popular in India.But we like cricket more. and we will go to court if the Dordarshan do not broadcast the cricket. It may be because, we can see the difference between our football and cricket team.We have a one of the best team in cricket.And now you know the last test match against the Australians, India won the match.That is Indian cricket team has a big place in world cricket. But when we look towards the football team, we cannot see that. Indian cricket team includes a lot best cricket players in the world. I think this may be main reason for we like cricket than the football.
