What does this STAR with myLot id mean?

I am new to myLot. So many things here are unknown to me. For this, I feel the necessity to ask my big brothers/sisters aka senior myLotters for the right answer. They are supposed to know the answers that the newbies do not know. When I had completed my 100th post, I could see a STAR suddenly popped up on the head of my username! Inside the STAR there is the number 8. I could not understand anything. I have seen STAR with every myLotter's username with more than 100 posts. But the numbers inside the STAR are not the same. For example, when I had hit century in posting, the number I saw inside my STAR was 8. But I have seen some username with the numer 5,6,7,8,9 or 10 inside the STAR! Why the variation of this number in STAR? What is the difference betwen 5STAR and 10STAR? Will the 10STAR-holder get more facility than his counterpart with 5STAR-holder?

It is the reputation. the star is depoendent on how much you are rated + by other users. it is measured in scale of 100.

It means trouble. lol Not being sarcastic here, but it sure is a trouble for lot of people. It shows how people rate you for your responses. So the higher your number, the better your rating. But the problem is there are no regulations on who gives a negative to you. So you might find it fluctuating now and then. bourne

it all depends on how people give you a rate. your rate may vary from up to down...dont worry about it. have fun here.

This is because people are rating you. Your numbers will go up and down depending on who you are being rated by. I believe everyone has the right to their opinion so I try to stay away from negative rating anyone unless they are doing things like spam. If someone has made a post that I find very informative and helped me learn something new, I will definitely up rate it.
