Are you a good tipper in a restaurant? Do you always give the 15% tip on your food bill? Does it depend on the service you received? OR Did/Do you work in food service? What was your best tip? Are your customers generally generous? How do you feel about working for tips? Do you make more/less in tips than your co-workers?

You know, I usually tip a little something when I get my hair cut or styled but I don't know what other people do. Did you get tips frequently?

I will give a tip of 0 to 20% on tips. It all depends on the service. Actually a Tip was supposed to come before the service is rendered. That is why it is called a T.I.P. (To Insure Promptness) I start with 15% and will go up or down based on the service. There is no such thing as a tip lower than 10% without it being 0%. In other words I will go down to a 10% but if the service is worse than that it they get a 0%. Thankfully I have not given the 0% very much at all. I'm not that cheap. :)

I have heard that if your service was atrocious, you should leave a nickel so that they get the point and don't think that maybe you have forgotten. I may have done that once. We don't eat out much recently but when we do my husband is usually a fiar tipper. Thanks:)

In my country, tip is not that popular. Waiters don't rely on tips. But when I go abroad, I give tips, just at the average level.

Yes I usually give a tip if I bring enough money with me to the restaurant. I have a habit of bringing a certain amount of money with me where ever I go because I'm very nervous and cautious about carrying a lot of cash on me. But if I know that I'm going to a restaurant that does the tipping thing, I might remember to bring a little extra because we usually get good service at places like that.

I t really depends on the service and if the restaurant has a service charge, if they do and still the service is excellent we leave some changes, but if the restaurant has none and the crews treated us badly, I don't give even a cent to them.

I always try to tip as much as I can. I've worked in the food biz before, and its really hard, and stressful work, so I know what those people are going through. I usually tip 50 percent. Even if the service isn't that great, cause you never know what that person was going through.

I usually give whatever i can afford at a restaurant. If I get horrible service then I give a horrible tip. I worked as a hotdog vender for a while and usually got great tips. I had a bunch of guys come from the states to the mardi gras here. I was working on the cart at the time. ONe guy bought a bunch of hotdogs for him and his buddies. I put the stuff on the hotdogs for them cause they were to drunk to do it themselves! Buddy gave me the money for the hotdogs which was like 14 bucks in american im canadian. Then gave me a $5 american tip. He said I did a great job and I deserved the tip. I dont think he realized the exchage rate was horrible and I only got like $2.
