when i was still living with my mom, she does that all the time, out of apprehension and concern for our safety. she has four girls for children (including me), which makes her doubly nervous when one of us don't come home before nine in the evening. she would just watch t.v., or lie in bed waiting for a text message from us. but even if we text her to tell her we're coming home a lot late, she still wouldn't sleep and wait for us still.
how about you? do you stay awake to wait for other household members to come home?

Yup yup. Same with my mom too. They still do. i generally at times go for parties and all. so even if i would want to come back home by 1 or 2 . She would be waiting for me. And until and until i dont come back home. She wouldnt sleep also. Well thats out she does for me. WEll she is soo overprocted towards me that she doesnt even let me go 2 night outs and all. I mean thats like a real bad thing , but then what can we do right?? Well i guess that how all our parents are. Overprotective :) happy mylotting :)

I only live with my two year old daughter... and my husband is working abroad... so i haven't experience such a thing yet... when my husband is home... he doesn't really stay out late... but if he does... he would certainly tell me...
When i was still living in my parents' house... we have a 9 pm curfew... so most of us will be home before that time... and when we are running late... my mother would always be waiting for us...

Nope. I do not stay awake waiting for my children to come home. They are usually home before I get home. If not, I know they will return on time. If they need to, they call me, wake me up, tell me what is going on and we go from there. They do not give me reason to worry.

Well, we too do that at home, waiting for others to come home. I use to play console games until those who are still out there come home. And even when they do arrive, I continue on playing but, recently a brother of mine had taken that responsibility on gaming along with waiting for those who are still yet to come. He however preferes online gaming which is indeed more immersive with the gameplay that utilizes other players online.
Sometimes, my brother waits or other family members stay up so that those that would be arriving wouldn't have trouble getting in the house. (^_^ )

oh well I do sometimes when hubby is out with officemates (drinking). sometimes I would sleep late and wait for him (because he is expecting me to.. so we can have a "chat" later
) or I am just worried about him, so I wait even if it is as late as 3 in the morning, one time he went at 6 AM
was really mad then because I did not sleep until about 4 in the morning and he did not send a text message to me to say he will be so so late, well so early in fact
