a dream within a dream

I have a friend who said that she always experiences having a dream within a dream. In her dream she woke up and talked to her seatmate in the office and she thought she was really doing it only to find out that she was still sleeping. She said in her dream she was very sure she woke up and conscious that she was talking with her seatmate and that she was very conscious when she walked to the bathroom to wash her face. it all seemed real until she woke up. Have you ever experienced this? My friend who believes in paranormal psychology said that a dream within a dream is a manifesttion that there are some spirits roaming around that place. Do you have a similar experience? it's scarey.

interesting, I always think that this is normal. I never thought, rather felt it's odd., lol, whenever I sleep, I would see myself waking up, talking with someone doing what I normally do then realizing i'm still asleep when the alarm strikes. Is it realy true there's some kind of a spirit around me? [I hope not coz i usually sleep in the office] I think it's just a lucid dream, because like you said this happened in the office so subconsciously she is doing her stuff, the things she should do so she felt like doing so. It's like her mind is telling her to do things and that, so she is not realy dreaming but planning ahead. make sense?lol.happy mylotting!

hmn...could be. i know you have experienced that too. But in the new office where I work now, it's really spooky and not just one of the teachers here but most of them experience the same thing. Oh my, by the way, aendzie, I posted this discussion about Koreans and you may want to join in the discussion...Most of the writers there actually gave me a very negative feedback saying I am a racist and that I can have my hypocrisy patended. hahaha. Please help me...

Yeah, I have heard of several accounts of people having a dream within a dream. In connection to your post, some paranormal experts believe that when you have such kind of dream, it means a spirit is trying to make a psychic connection with you while you are sleeping. They say that the brain's activity is at its peak when we are asleep and sometimes our extra-sensory perception/awareness would sometimes go haywire and we might just have a connection with spirits in that situation.

wow. that's kinda scary. And I guess it is also dangerous. I've heard some who were not able to wake up anymore after saying that they keep on experiencing dream within a dream almost everynight. And the peole they told them about what's happening believed that they were finally invited to the spirit world and never could come back.

This sound like a lucid dream to me. You know you are dreaming and can take control of your dream.

I have numerous dreams that really occurred in reality. Dreams can be foretelling you on what will happen in your future or maybe they are just offshoot of your day to day activities. About your friend's dream, am interested because it seems that she wanted to talk to her office mate, maybe she has some relationship to make up as indicated by washing her face or her office mate has something against her she didn't know yet. He, he just guessing. . .

This happens to me on a regular basis. Usually, when I have had a long night and want to sleep in. I'll wake up, hit the snooze button, then I get up out of bed and begin my day...when in actuality I really only hit the snooze button. Sometimes I will remain in the dream for several rounds of the snooze button without ever having any recolection of hitting it. It will be a phone call or a knock on the door that wakes me from the dream....but no phone ringing or door knocking in reality, only in the dream. I have never heard of the spirit reasoning for this. It has happened to me since I was a kid and it doesn't matter where I am, and is always when I am extremely tired.
