Another silly Mylot question...

I have a Mylot question that I hope isn't redundant. When you want to add a new interest is there a way to search for it instead of going through pages and pages of choices or adding a new and potentially duplicate one? And why is there more than one of the same interest (I found like 10 different O.C categories under TV shows)? I don't want to add duplicate interests but I would rather not go through 50 pages of interests to find the one I'm looking for. Is there an easier way that I'm just not seeing? Any other helpful tips for managing interests?

I think when you type in the box to suggest a new one it MIGHT search through the existing list. That's how I got anime...which came with an icon too. I'm not sure about this, though. It IS pretty annoying to scroll through pages, and I see quite a few duplicates!
