As I know, Christmas is for the kids! They're happy to have a gifts or a presents. If unknown people like u said, ask for a gifts or money ..... just say "Sorry, my bag is already empty." in friendly way. So u don't have to stay away or hide somewhere else for these people. Peace be you!

People begging for gifts at your home is not a problem we experience here in the United States, thus if you do not want to celebrate Christmas, or just wish to have your privacy, that is pretty easy to do as long as you stay at home. However if you venture out everyone is likely to which you a Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays for several weeks before the Christmas (and possibly for a week or so afterwords). Of course there is always the ubiquitous bell ringers collecting money for the Salvation Armey and other charatible organizations, but the is not a lot of out right begging.

I wish I could hide in Christmas, but I don't think I would be able to do that. My family would always find me wherever I hide LOL. I don't celebrate Christmas, but in Christmas, people around me celebrate it and wanted me to blend in their happiness, why should I refuse such a kind invitation like that? So I joined them, blended in, and tried to enjoy the celebration. The good thing is, no one begging for gifts from me LOL
