I know a new way of cook rice with rice cooker. And I would like you, all the cooking lovers, konw the way. Sometimes the family members like different kind of rice. some one likes the hard rice, and some one likes the soft one. How could us to cook different kind of rice for once, in a same rice cooker? 1. Get a cup of rice, and put them in a pot, and wash the rice twice or three times. 2. Put the washed rice into the rice cooker. Then, put water in it. I usually put about one and a half of cup. I measure the depth of the rice and then, put the water in the cooker, the water's height, which above the rice, is as high as the rice. 3. This is the tip of making two kinds of rice in one rice cooker. Use a spoon or something else, to make the rice in half of the cooker. It may looks like this "~" or "-|_" in the cooker. One side is higher then the other. The higher side will be hard rice, it is good for make fried rice. 4. The last part is put on the cover of the rice cooker and push the button.

daisychinese, Thank you for imparting this knowledge of yours, and I just want to add that this for you. Perhaps you can go for the 100% Thai Fragrant Rice the next time when you go about shopping to replenish your rice stock. They may be a little expensive than the local ones, but give it a try. I have many positive feedbacks over the years and I just thought of enhancing your gourmet experience with rice here. Also, you may want to add cabbages, a clove of garlic (minced) and long beans into the rice with a dash of salt on your next cook. Its quite nice, give it a try. Hope you like it. Take care.
