Yes, Its true, when my uncle got the Mobile connections in the year 2000, the incoming calls has been charged, for the first one minute Re.1/- and the for the rest of the time you talk will be charged for 50 Paise per minutes. AT that point of time, the both the end will be charged, those who calling to mobile will be charged Rs.3/- per minute to Rs.4.50/- per minutes according to the provider and the incoming call for the mobile user also be charged, so at that time only the important informations only passed through the mobile user to others, But now a days, everything will get it chaged, most of the people are surrender their land lines and going for a mobile phone, because those are very much cheaper than the land line bills/charges.. and easy to handle, easy to get easy to opperate and which is very economical also.. we can recharge/top up the same based on our usages.. there is no other hidden charges as for as the prepaid connections are concern, even through if any (during the top up, 12% will becharged as a government taxes) those are very nominal when comparred to the other costs.. If the same (charges for incoming calls) will be come back to the mobile usages, the people will come back to the landline once again.. and the mobile shops will be closed and they can diversify their business to any of the grossery shops or somthing.. Have a good day.
