What effect does public ban on smoking law have?

I don't think there is much difference as the government neither has the will nor manpower to enforce the law. I've not seen a single smoker stop smoking cause of law. They are all still finding ways and means to smoke. Am I right?

You may be right about the will of the government to implement the ban. It would be good to deter people from smoking in all places. Still, I think it's a good start. Cheers!!

I think the effect will take a long time to see. Of course the hardcore smoker will always find ways to smoke but sooner or later they'll tend to slow down to it as it shows no urge to smoke cause of the less will smoke day by day to follow the rule. it kind of psychological effect on the smokers.

Pa just got this ban earlier this month. and the only difference that we have seen, is there is no smoking in any resturants. Most bars still have smoking that I know of. We live in a small community and Im on a womans pool league so I do go to the bars to play and every bar that I have gone to has smoking. Now like I said we are a small town and we travel to a few other places and all 11 bars that we play at are all smoking. The only difference there seems to be is no children are allowed at all. Which didnt bother me as I dont think that is a place for a kid anyways. I have found noone that has quit because of this law and I dont think anyone will here in Pa as long as smoking is still allowed in basically all the bars.
