I personally don't understand the whole texting craze. Why would I want to sit and text back and forth with someone when I can simply hit a button and TALK TO THEM??? It makes absolutly no sense to me at all! My 17 year old neice gets free incoming calls on her cell phone plan, yet had a $350 cell phone bill due to TEXTING! Do I just not get it???

Kids like to text so that others don't hear them and they can text in class sometimes so they like that. Texting takes to long and is more costly. If she were made to pay the bill then she doubtfully wouldn't text so much.

I am the opposite from you. Yes, it is probably easier and faster to just talk to someone, but I don't really like to talk on the phone. I would rather just text. When you text, you don't have to stop everything that you are doing. You can just send a message and go right back to doing whatever you were doing before. Also, if you are talking to someone that you really don't have much to talk about, texting makes it seem like your conversation is longer. I get what you are saying though, a lot of people feel that way. It just depends on what you like I guess.

hi sidyboy! if you live in my country, you would decide to send text messages to the person wanted to relay your message to rather than calling the person for you to have long talks because here calling is very expensive while texting is cheaper and more convenient. we only make calls when needed and when it is very important. another thing, each telecommunication companies have unlimited texting features with a maximum of 5 days but of course with the same network only. hahaha! good thing most of the people i exchange messages with have the same network as i am. happy halloween! happy posting and happy mylotting!

I agree with you I have never understood why some people like to sit there and text message instead of calling,I personally think texting is kind of a waste of time because in the time it takes you to send a text message you can call and ask the person whatever you want to ask them,or tell them whatever you need to tell them, and it can cost a lot of money for texting, unless you get unlimited texting on your plan which can be quite a chunk of money, and I only text from time to time,I used to text my fiance when we first started dating, but she lives with me and my parents house so I am with her every moment of every day,and the only other person I ever text is one of our friends, who we do not see anymore, because he owes us money, and he is the type of person that is always lying.

I don't know about there but here in the Philippines, texting is one of the, if not, the most popular means of communication. It's really cheap to send a text message here. Providers even have plans where you just pay a small amount and you get to send as many text messages as you want in a day. On the other hand, calling here is a bit more pricey compared to texting.
