Conversations I have with our cat

I have found recently that our cat is very wise. I will kick her off the ottoman where I sit my feet. Later she will come back and get on the laptop on my lap and set amongst the keyboard. The conversation goes as such: Myself : Cat we've talked about how I don't like your butt on the keyboard (cat moves and plants her butt on the screen of the laptop) Myself: Cat we've talked about how I don't like your butt on the monitor (cat then proceeds to stare at me) (cat turns around to the side and acts as if she is going to get down (I wait) (she waits) (I push her off) (she gets back on the ottoman) I'm beginning to learn that if I just don't kick her off the ottoman in the first place, she'll leave me alone and quite possibly will give me comfortable foot room. Anyone ever hear the quote : Dogs have owners cats have staff Dogs come when they're call Cats take a message and get back to you? I've heard that cats were once worshipped, but I have also heard that Chihuahua's were worshipped at one time too. We have both cats and chihuahua's, oh boy!

Hi there. Your cat seems indeed wise even if you did not manage to learn her to do any tricks. The cats were indeed worshiped in the past (starting with ancient Egyptians) but this thing stopped when one night (i think it was in the dark ages) a black cat gave a scarce to a citizen (or rather said villager at that time) and thus the worshiping had stopped as people started to believe that cats were possessed and a purge against cats was started.

That is definitely not something I've heard (I mean the bit about the black cats). I've heard that black cats were considered bad luck, some even think they are evil.. but other then that i am not sure. I heard about the Egyptians worshipping them as well.

Information is found in the strangest of ways! I would never have thought that it was true, even if it was on a disney dvd.

I learned this information from one of my Disney original dvd's that had the cat history documentary (made in a funny way thanks to Disney's creativity) on it as a bonus.

Cats are very cuddly and sweet animals, but can be picky in their ways. I am not sure what a cat's attraction to the monitor is. Often times the window will be open and she can look outside, and yet she doesn't. Maybe she likes the view of the backyard more then the front? The views are equally as beautiful, and yet she tends to be bothersome when we are on the computer.

i think my cat has desended from those ancient cats that were worshipped! i think she views us all as her 'staff' and yes, i have heard this before. my cat will meow at you until you acknowledge her (especially if she wants a kitty treat!) she drives us all crazy sometimes!

Oh but something about them makes you want to pet them anyway, and then sometimes they don't want to be petted. They sure do have humans trained, don't they? Our cat doesn't meow that much, but when she does she means business!

I sometimes talk with a cat. You know, that the pronounciation "ow" in how just sounds like the cat's language. In order to pronounce it well, I pratise it with the cats for so many times.

That is very interesting but amusing nonetheless. Now that I think about it, I have always thought and described "meow" as being the correct way a cat communicates...

lol. Too cute. I have plenty of cats and my roommate has a chihuahua/pit mix. he is incorrigible -he thinks he is GOD and everyone should treat him as such. He growls when he is happy, he growls when he is mad. in fact if he makes any noise at all it is most usually a growl. My cats and I have also had similar conversations.. they sit between me and the monitor on my desk and LOVE to walk on the keyboard after pushing them away about 10 times. I finally dump them on the floor and they promptly jump back up on the desk and walk all over the keyboard. It is a never ending vicious cycle. I am not sure I am always the winner. But the sure do make great blankets in the winter! That is my sacrifice. LOL

Our cat is not as persistent, she waits a few minutes before trying again, and if she hasn't come back in a while most likely she's in our bedroom. I honestly think that is her little way of saying "fine if you won't let me up here with you I will go sit in ya'll's bedroom where you can't kick me out, cuz you don't know i'm there!" She gets very sneaky sometimes. My fiance or I will go into the room for something and when we have our backs turned she comes in, hides under the bed and then comes out when we have shut the door or left where she can't see us. Animals are a nice blanket sometimes! Nice huggers too! I appreciate the response!

hahahah yes cats are so independent, and they only do what they want to do, you have to respect them for that when you think how small they are to us humans, would we act like a cat to an animals that is so much bigger than we are...they are so cute...

Cats are definitely very brave individuals. I've heard of cats that have jumped up high and such, and when you compare them to dogs you never see that. Then again it may have been part of a myth or rumor. Some people believe can't jump too high, and some people believe they can. I appreciate the response.

I agree our cat is very wise, and I know you will kick her off the ottoman because you like putting your feet on it,and after going out of the room to make a plan and plot her revenge she will come back into the room, and get on the ottoman and get on the laptop on your lap,and sit on the keyboards, and I know it seems that it is like a conversation where you tell her you do not like her butt on the keyboard and she puts her butt on the screen, and you tell her you do not like her butt on the screen and she will look at you,and you will both just wait, until you kick her off,and it does seem like if you just let her stay on the ottoman she would not bother you,and she might give you enough foot room, and I have heard that quote before and it does seem to be true at least in her eyes, and I have heard that cats were worshiped because people believed that had healing powers, and I have also heard that chihuahuas were worshiped as well, and yeah we are lucky enough to have both a cats and chihuahuas,I love you.

Lol, yes well there are always interesting stories around cats and dogs especially breeds that are not common or are just found out. I think that it's great that you have heard of those things as well. I know you told me about the rumor of a cat's healing power and whether or not it's true I am not sure. I appreciate the response. I love you too!

It definitely makes for a good conversation if nothing else. I know that there are a lot of stories that go back years and years before.

I know there are always interesting stories about cats and dogs especially of breeds we do not see or hear much about, and I think it is good to hear stories and research to see if there is any truth behind them, even though no one knows for sure since most of the stories are hundreds or thousands of years old,and I am not sure if the story that cats used to have healing powers is true or not,and I am always happy to respond to you, because I like all of your discussions, and I can always find a lot to say to them,I love you with all my heart and soul, have a great day, good luck with all your mylotting goals, and Happy Posting Baby.
