I got me a new latop. It's nothing fancy, but definitely works better than my PC :) Plus, I needed my own computer to get mre writing done... So of course I spent last 3 hours installing, setting up and making my laptop more usable... I had no idea how many sites I visit on a reglar basis untill I had to visit them all in a row to get them in my toolbar... ARGH. Tis I hate about getting a new computer. What about you? What part about getting a new computer you hate? Unfammiliar keyboard? Empty HDD?

The thing I hate about getting a new computer is the junk they have installed on it before I get it. I always have to go through and uninstall the junk programs like Norton Antivirus(usually a trial), trials of music players, cd burning software, adobe pdf reader and all the other crap they think I want. There are so many better and cheaper alternatives than the programs most computers come with. Also, I usually have to go through all the settings(shutdown when lid closes, etc) before I use a new computer.

Oh God... I hate that! That's why I buy my laptop clean and install the system myself... Yes, irrtating, but i have full control over what's on my HDD... Lesser evil? Thanks for your response!

Definitely the pre-installed junk. Those are a pain and they just take up unnecessary space. I hate having to go trough my hard drive and getting rid of the programs I don't need. I also hate having to install all the programs I frequently use, like Winamp and such. It takes a while to hunt them all down and install them onto the new laptop. And some of those programs take hours to install. After going through this a few times, I learned my lesson and started clumping all of the programs I use into one folder and saving it onto a CD. That way I can just pop in the CD and install everything at once instead of searching for them all over again.

I have had a lot of trouble when I decided to buy a new laptop, which I agree is much better than a PC. I had to take it back to the store 3 times because the machine had problems and each time I had to do a system restore after spending hours installing all my software! That is a pain! I hate setting up my email accounts too. I'm off and running now and onto my fourth laptop in a month. Wish me luck! I too hate all the stuff that is pre-installed on the computer when you first get it, it is usually junk you don't want and you have to uninstall it all before you get started.
