Im not trying to be racist. It just that I found out there is a pagent for African American females. It seems to me that every women should be able to compete together in one Miss America pagent. As a Japanese, it seems little wired to me. Is there Miss White American Pagent too? I just want to hear your opinions.

At one time the Miss American Pagent was mostly whites only. Very few other races were present or allowed to run. So yes back then I could understand having a seperate but now a days? No. There is no reason for it and yes you are right it would be a form of discrimination. Any time you have where one race or gender can do something and another can't it is discrimination. Doesn't matter which race or gender it is either. It is discriminatory against the rest.

They can. It is called Miss America (you can be any race and win). Per Wikipedia: "J. Morris Anderson first created and produced the Miss Black America Pageant on August 17, 1968, it was a local Philadelphia area pageant to protest the lack of black women in the Miss America pageant. In 1969, the Miss Black America became national with 42 U.S. states competing in New York City's Madison Square Garden. The winner was Miss Black New York."
