I don't know if this counts, but my uncle once made his daughter kneel on rice, for awhile.. It was aweful, he was glad I wasn't there, believe me, it has been over 7 years and I still get upset to know of a brutal punishment like this...

Perhaps most of my life has been a Discordian Ritual even though I wasn't aware that's what is was called.
