Things don't go as you plan -- what would your outlook on life be then??

Things hardly ever go as planned to say the least... when they don't how is your outlook on life altered? IS it altered? Life is ever changing and we cant predict what will happen but each person has certain expectations, when those expectations do not come to light do you lose your passion for life?

i used to think so much about the future, then in 24 hours things changed, my brother was killed and since then a lot of the time was "what the f just happened", then after time things focused a little and now i think completely differently. I was so sure as a child things were one way, that nostalgic feeling of being young and thinking this really is as good as it gets, this is the world, then your thrown into what is reality like a pedestrian on the highway. It was weird before and right after it happened for me, things went from yup this is me, to i am empty, and have no right to assume anything or have the confidence to say anything because it will all change anyway, then slowly that veil of shock lifts and your like hey, hi big world, where have i been, what is this, like a child absorbing knowledge, and you realize how stupid you were before, how grateful you are now, and how much you want to learn, and just say hey its from my brother, cause, well, who else?

I can't say i know what you mean because i haven't been through that, all i can say i can imagine how it would feel because i have a brother (may God keep him safe)... i am truly sorry for your loss. But that is what makes a person's perspective change or feel like life is out of control for them loss... thank you for sharing that and giving me your perspective on things... i can't give a best answer already awarded that (no new answers for a long while) but i can give you +rating for the well worded and well thought out response. Thank you again.

In every plan we are expecting to succeed it but sometimes we are in the wrong way on our decision that tend to be in the worst situation, we really plan for the best and its hard to accept that we lost the expected plan. And for that we get desperate and we don't like to move on just to keep the missing plan. As for me now i have many plans that i never accomplished for i know that it is not my time to achieve what i wanted to be, i just wait the right timing for every plans i made. I realize it when i try to understand every situation of what i have just keep on trying for losing our life will give us no direction.

well said Patzel... so basically you have the "what does not kill me makes me stronger" sort of outlook on things... you believe that if it was meant to be it will be... However at times that is hard to convince one's self of

In a way I consider myself lucky to be a natural optimist, so my take on life and the up and down roller coaster ride is usually based on the half- full glass in front of me, rather than the half empty one that the pessimist would see. I mention all that because your last question asks whether we lose our passion for life when things don't go quite to plan. That's a heavy, dark place to go in my humble opinion, especially when you consider that we tend to live in hope of great things, or of better things at the very least, which in reality means that we are quite likely to find disappointment at the end of that glossy rainbow that we are chasing. A lot of us get thru those dark times by consoling ourselves with well worn sayings and quotations.....It wasn't my time....the man didn't really want me to have the job/house/car/suit/.....what is to be will be, and probably best of all.....don't fret, our time will come! You have to laugh, which is another great psychological weapon in that inbuilt psyche that keeps us going....when the going gets tough! Final thought? find some comfort in the words of others, and here is a great place to find a whole raft of stuff, from quotations to poems, and lots more. http://www.inspirationpeak.com/

Thanks for your input. Well lately it's like either everything goes splendidly well and im just holding my breath saying now things will go sour... it's gonna happen... and when i let my guard down.. BANG.. so i have become a bit of a pessimist... quarrels are getting more frequent and words thrown in anger cut deep so that doesnt really pull a person up you know?? By the way thank you for the site =)
