i haven't sleep well for a long time

this is the sentence popular among my friends who have left school and begin making their own living, it sounds that,working is an aweful thing, i sypathize with them but expect they can enjoy their jobs rather than compllain about it

if you cant go to sleep, you might as well lay down on the sofa and watch TV or read a book, then you will soon fell asleep.

They might have a good reason when they say that. I think they are still finding hard to adjust to the real working life. After recalling back, at school and at work - we faced the same concept. We have to be on time or else we be in trouble. We got to do homework and submit on time or else the boss will be on our back. The only difference is at work we get paid at the of every month. Anyway, we should try to adapt into our work and enjoy doing what we are doing. Than we can love what we does for our living. Complaining wont solve any problem - think positive. Always appreciate that you got a job to go to everyday and earn an honest living.

Well, I guess that's just the reality of the working world, because things are really demanding out there. But still, I think people should know the importance of health and should not compromise their health with their work. I reckon when any of your friends comes along and says that sentence, you could advise them a little about sleep hygiene. - Try to get up at the same time each day (trying to sleep at the same time is important too, but not as important as waking up at the same time ). - Drinking a glass of milk before sleeping can be actually helpful to make you fall asleep. - Avoid ticking clocks nearby your bed because it can be very distracting. - If you can't sleep, don't just lie in bed; get up and do something. You might get sleepy after a while. - Avoid afternoon naps. - If possible, keep a sleep diary so you know how your sleep pattern is progressing. Things should get better if your friends follow these pointers. Anyway, I feel you really are a good friend - sympathizing with your friends' problems. Good luck in giving the advise and I hope they're useful!
