In the Philippines, we often use this word "Yihee" to tease other people. I use it when I'm teasing two friends who seem to be developing a relationship or when one of my friends has a crush on someone. Do you know if this word is used in other countries too? Because I think it's something very Filipino but I'm just not too sure.

I can relate. HAHA At times I will be using "ahiiiiiiiii". It's nice to tease other people especially if one of them do really have a crush on the other and they will end up as a couple. Hehe

Well each language has such typical set of words which are typically spoken by the local people. These words are unique in the sense that a single word expresses a world of different meanings and you can never find a substitute such words by phrases or sentences. In Bengali, we often use a word ‘eeeeeeeshhhhhhh’ it’s a typically Bengali pronunciation, used more by women than men. It denotes teasing, coyness, innocence, ignorance, flirting…I mean a whole lot of things. We also have ‘dhhaaat’ which is something akin to ‘damn’ and ‘dhhhooor’ which expresses frustration and laziness and a peculiar acceptance of things as they are in the firm belief that nothing will actually change.

Oooh thanks again for sharing! This is definitely very interesting. I feel bad not knowing about so many other cultures, but at the same time I feel lucky to have learned new things on mylot today. :)

I also do the same with my friends. I often tease them with that "Yihee and sometimes the super "Uuuyyy". I like to see them blushing and don't know what to do ha ha.. They are really cute and amusing..

This is very Filipino indeed. I used these words to tease my friends who seemed to like each other, or maybe one friend has a crush to another person and they accidentally looked at each other, and my friends used it to me as well when I was on the same stage. And then I blushed... Haha!
