Marriage Fraud

How many know what it is? My mother is a victim of it. She married a Immigrant from another country and at the time she was fighting cancer and he seemed like a really nice guy who stayed by her side and claimed to be giving up his job and life in his other country because he loved her. So they get married and the marriage was slowly falling apart I mean he changed into a pretty secretive and selfish guy. So a few months ago he walks out on her and admits he only married her to get into this country and that he never loved her. Then he sets out to destroy her life and makes up false and ridiculous accusations and when she attempts to contact him he has her arrested. Whats unbelievable is that the cops believe him and not my mother even the judge doesn't question him and this guy is not even a US Citizen he never got his papers. Then he has a fancy job making lots of money while she ends up in debt and having no choice but to move away. He sits in court playing the victim and when we exit the guy is smirking. I find out from Immigration that this is more common then people realize so I am on a crusade to put a stop to it and to see justice be done. I mean he shouldn't be still walking around but he is and that just angers me so much because my mother is still fighting cancer and her health has detiorated. He also took me to court with false accusations and because he had a fancy lawyer I got humilated and had to move too. What a lovely justice system we have when the immigrants are treated better then us citizens. I have written in and spoke with the senators and governors in my state who have told me that they are going to intervene and get Immigration and Homeland Security to do something. I just wanted everyone to be aware that this is happening.

I'm really sorry about what happened to your mom. And you have every right to be angry. This is absolutely no way to treat a person. Especially when your mom doesn't seem to have anything to this guy to deserve this attitude. Not to mention that she helped him get what he wanted. Common or not, the authorities really need to deal with this. It is true that there may be more than they can handle, but they are there to protect the people in the country. They should be motivated by that. And, then, they might be able to deal with quite a few cases hopefully.

Wouldn't it be lovely if people ,(I say people because women do it too ) after decieving a person and before the ink is even dry on the marriage papers leave ,should see the inside of that countrys jail and after having served their term be deported back to their own country.I am sorry this happened to your mother and family and this guy must be be the best in smooth talking if he can pull the wool over a judge ,but he will get his in the end .

Of course he has more rights! Good grief you don't really expect someone that is breaking the law to have to abide by the same standards as American Citizens do you? Anyone that thinks that is living under a misconception. After all to make illegal aliens obey our laws would not only be politically incorrect it would be viewed as being prejudiced.
