I asked this question because I was not the one who choose mine. But I have no choice, I have no choice but to follow them, since they were the one who is providing my tuition fee. They told me that if I am not goint to take the course, I will not study so i got no choice. I am actually talking of my profession as a teacher. Since then I really do not want to teach. I already pass the board examination about 1 year ago but haven't practice my course simply because I really do not want it. I now work as a call center agent since taht is really my interest. What about you? Is your profession chosen by you?Do you like it?

I don’t believe that we choose our profession, but that, under ideal circumstances, our profession chooses us. Without being able to empirically or scientifically prove it, I believe that we are all born with an inherent talent. In that sense we are born as an electrician, baker, teacher or fireman. In a more elevated context it’s called a ‘calling’. With it goes the idea that we are all send here to fulfill a task or a series of tasks. What a good education system should provide is an environment where students can experiment and find out what their calling is, where their talents lie. Now, what you describe is sadly typical for many students. Circumstances dictate which profession to take up, other people (like your parents), or ambition, where people become for example a doctor because that’s where the money is. How many people do you know that are genuinely happy with their work?

Teaching is a great profession, but not for those who don't want to teach! It's unfortunate that your benefactors made this choice for you instead of letting you decide for yourself. But you did have a choice whether or not to accept their money and their demand that you study to be a teacher, you know. Many people manage to pay for their own education, one way or another, if they want it badly enough. I spent 25 years working in a factory, by my own choice, although I finally left that job 3 years ago. Now I am a writer and secondhand goods merchant. I love what I do, even though I'm not making a big pile of money (yet).

I don't really have a choice. Although I had excellent results in my exams, I need to follow my parent's choice because we don't have money. I went to teaching college because they provide monthly allowance to support my college. At first, I really hated it. But then I realize the challenges that I had to face every day makes teaching so enjoyable and satisfying. I just love being a teacher.

I was a teacher for 15 years and really loved being with the chidren. It was a rewarding and satisfying career. I only left due to an injury that has left me unable to work, or else I would still be doing what I loved so much. However I do agree with the responder who said it is not for everyone. Have you thought about working for a while so that you can go back to school part time and work toward the degree you really wanted? You have your basic courses completed already and they should count toward a second degree. You may find you do enjoy teaching after all, or may decide to get into the administrative side of education working outside of the classroom. You should not be stuck with a job that you don't want to do just because someone else wants you to. That can make life miserable. Have these people commented on the fact that you have chosen to be a call center agent rather than using your education they paid for? I am just curious as to how they reacted. You did not say what you would rather do, but many teachers go into publishing, writing or editing textbooks or writing stories for reading books. You may be able to use your education in other ways. All the best to you. I hope that you are able to find a profession that makes you happy.

Hi! Teaching is one of the noblest jobs ever! It's good, too that you have finished your studies and have passes to become a professional teacher. Having your license is good already, if you do not intend to use it in teaching, maybe you can use it in the future. I chose my own profession, however, it wasn't really my exact choice. My score in the entrance exam did not qualify me for my first choice so I had to find another. I chose one in haste not knowing what it was all about. I finished that course, got my license. I like it somehow!
