What's behind those avatar????

I have been using avatar ever since i started to blog or to chat . In all those cases i never used my own picture to be my avatar not because i am ugly or something (which i know i am not ) but i just don't want to used my picture just to keep animosity or the intrigue some may say . So, now i often wonder what is really behind those good looking picture , is there something behind those avatars that worth telling ? I mean do you think people use avatar to show what they really feel or to be what they want or want to have ???? what do you think?

I used to have my picture up but I found that I was getting tons of friend requests on here everyday from people I had never seen or talked to. It was starting to creep me out. So now I use the cute cupcakes. I love baking and cupcakes are among my favorite things to bake so that's why I have it.

Mine is symbolic of my protectiveness over my children. I am a mother lion, protecting her babies. Nothing special, just to me, better than using a personal pic, that always makes me nervous.

so i guess i am partly right about the avatar that we are using it really means something to us .
