http://news.yahoo.com/s/time/20081107/us_time/shouldkidsbeabletograduateafter10thgrade I just read this article about students graduating at the 10th grade. Read it and tell me your opinion. I think this can benefit many students. Those that need the extra help will be able to get it. Those that are ready to go to college can go. At my old highschool now, (not when I was there lol) my sisters have been able to go to college during the summer months, starting in the 9th grade and when they graduate from highschool they will already have some college credits.

That could be an interesting move. Not bad, not good - interesting. I know that here in Texas, they are doing the opposite - putting more required classes onto the loads of kids' high school schedules. Now you have to take four years of required math, science, English, and history, whereas you only needed three of science and math. Thank God I graduated already. But I think if they were to graduate earlier, the maturity and necessary skills (education-wise and common-sense-wise) wouldn't be there completely just yet. Now, I know many kids who are mature and very smart by 16, and the end of 10th grade - those who are ready to move onto college and careers and other ventures...but getting out of college at 18 seems like a right age for everything. I don't know - maybe because we've just been doing that for so long is why I say that...but it's really an interesting debate.
