Is it too soon to start decorating for Christmas?

My family and I really enjoy decorating the house for Chritmas. We usually start right after Thanksgiving. This year we're all excited and I think we might start a little early. Is it still too early to decorate for Christmas? When is a good time to start? When do you start putting up your Christmas decorations?

I'm sure its never to early to start decorating. However, I don't put up our tree or decorations till after Thanksgiving. It has always been a long time family tradition for me. I take them down after the first of the year.

Same here. We always wait until after Thanksgiving and then take them down after New Year's Day. It just seems like we're getting in the holiday spirit a little sooner this year and we can't wait. :) Thanks for the response.

Idon't think is too early if you have fun with it! With the commercial propaganda beggining in early Oct, I believe is even better to have a couple of months to enjoy Christmas decoration, so time and money spended has more value.

I am a firm believer in waiting until the day after Thanksgiving. I think each holiday should be celebrated on it's own.

I think it is ok to put your Christmas lights up outside early...just DON'T TURN THEM ON UNTIL THANKSGIVING NIGHT OR THE NEXT DAY!!! I live in Minnesota and it gets cold here by Thanksgiving, and I wouldn't want to be putting my lights up in the cold.
