I would like to visit the White House. I have been through Washington DC. I have never been close to the White House, I wish I could visit all areas even the Presidents personal living areas, all of it. I remember reading once that visitors were visiting some section of the White House and behind a private wall was an area where they could hear Nancy Reagan walking her dogs outside. Something to that nature.. I wonder do they let each family decorate their living area to their taste? I have all kinds of question? Have you ever visited the White House? Would you like to visit the White House?

I have never visited the white house nor have I been to Washington D.C. There was a trip one year to go but I didn't want to / neither did my family. From what I understood I didn't miss / did miss anything. I don't know really, it's been awhile and I didn't really hear anything about it anyway. I think one of my family members has been close to the white house although I am not sure about that one either. I can't say I'd want to go there myself, but I do think that it has a lot of importance and I would wonder if they were allowed to paint it or decorate their quarters to their liking. I would hope so, although I can't be sure!

Hi chevee! Yes I have visited the White House. It was a very long time ago. I think I was in the Girl Scouts at the time. We had an overnight trip to Washingon, DC. We went to the different memorials like Lincoln, Jefferson and a whole bunch of other places. But, I do remember going to the White House. And no, they didn't take us anywhere near the private quarters. They only take you to a certain part. Now I was very young so I don't really remember much. I think I went twice. I think I went with my family or when I was visiting some friends of my Mom's. I know I did go at two different times. It was a very long line. You really don't get to see much. I would love to go now that I am older. It would mean alot more. I know that after 9/11 they stopped the tours for awhile. I guess they started them again. Washington DC is a really cool place to visit. There are alot of things to see.

yeah. i have been to the white house in the 70s. i was raised in west virginia, and my family used to hang out in fairfax virginia and dc on weekends all the time. i had an uncle who lived in arlington virginia. i even lived one year in maryland, very close to dc. so, back in the 70s, i have been to all the dc monuments and historical places and smithsonian and other museums. i am sure everything has changed now. we used to drive to atlantic city and nyc as well. so, i am an east coast person living in california now.

Yes I would certainly want to if I could. I mean the history behind it and the Former Presidents who ran it are the reasons why I want to. At least I could say that I've been to one of the historical places of the world.

Hi Chevee. I've been to Washington DC but never got to go in the White House. I think it would be very interesting. One thing I was asking my husband the other day was - where does the Vice President and family live? Do they live at the White House too? Have a good lotting day.

I think it would be very interesting to visit the White house to gather in the historical facts that are around. However, at the same time I would be hesistant to visit the White house. Just learning the history and getting to see parts of the White House would be interesting to see though.

When I was a child and visited Washington D.C., I was more interested in getting back to the motel and the swimming pool. The one time I've visited as an adult I didn't go to the White House and I don't know why I didn't. Looking back I wish I had gone there and if I get the change again, I will.
