We do download some movies sometimes and the maximum hours that our laptop is been use is 17 hours. In normal days we just use our laptop for at least 12 hours or maybe less sometimes.

Yes rite now im downloading tv shows....so my laptop isn't shutdown from 7 days...
and i hope that i'll shutdown it after 3-4 days after finishing my downloading...

i like to use my lap top about 1-2 hours a day, i work with computers, so maybe i dont use it to much

I don't keep the laptop running for a day long as the processor is not well-ventilated. The heat of laptop CPU builds up very rapidly and I am always concerned about the lifespan of my laptop under extensive hours of use. I suggest giving it breaks in between by running it under suspend mode to cut down power usage and heat generation. Happy MyLotting...

yea The component in the laptop that is specially designed to produce heat is nothing,but most heat generate heat as the side effects.Lap handle on the hard drive it is very small in size processor and graphics cards chips etc..usually generates heat energy.so we have to wait for new technology to reduce heat as we knows the variety of innovations to help cooling the laptop,they should be with enough power and cooling systems.

yeah why not?
used it like 20hrs one day
i had the monitor set to turn off after 10 mins of inactivity
i had my slides there n was styding em

ohh.......ok 20 hrs one day.
you know I usually working with my lap top for 10hrs per day.
but it doesn't mean I'm full time with my laptop.it makes me fatigue when I do difficult tasks especially programming so I will take some rest and that time the monitor may automatically off if I'm not with Lap top for 10 minutes.

Well, if you mean using laptop do download files for 24 hours, I did that before too. I was just wondering if I used my laptop for 24 hours for work or personal use. 
I guess some people will just let the computer on and let it download files from Internet, as we are not using the computer and Internet when we are sleeping, it's much faster to download the files during night time. ^_^
