As God being the supreme ruler and creator over all, I put forth the idean that God is oth evil AND good. If God is all love how could he create evil? All love has no capacity for evil, yet he created lucifer who was evil... Discuss Discuss! Thanks.

Hi, I don't know how Bethsmom can say "God did not create evil" she must be of little faith or no faith and just does'nt know what she's talking about... God created everything and as God does and has mercy He also creates evil. Deut.7 1:15 And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee, but will lay them upon all them that hate thee. Josh.23 1:15 Therefore it shall come to pass, that al all good things are come upon you, which the LORD your God promised you, so shall the LORD bring upon you all evil things, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you. Judg.9 1:23 Then God sent an evil spirit between Alimelech and the men of Shechem;and the men of Shechem dealt treacherously with Alimelech. 2:57 And all the evil of the men of Shechem did God render upon their heads: and upon them came the curse of Jotham the son of Jerubbaal. 1Sam.16 1:14 But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him. 2Sam.12 1:11 Thus saith the LORD, behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun. 1Kgs.14 2:10 Therefore, behold, I will bring evil upon the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel, and will take away the renament of the house of Jeroboam, as a man taketh away dung, till it be all gone. 1Kgs.21 3:29 Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days, but in his son's days will I bring the evil upon his house. 2Kgs.21 3.12 Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever hearth of it, both his ears shall tingle. 2Kgs.22 1:16 Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the words of the books which the king of Judah hath read. 1Chr.21 1:15 And God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it, and as he was destroying, the LORD beheld, and he repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed, it is enough, stay now thine hand. And the angel of the LORD stood by the threshinefloor of Ornan the Jebusite. 2Chr.34 1:24 Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah. 2Chr.34 2:28 Behold, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace, neither shall thine eyes see all the evil that I will bring upon this place, and upon the inhabitants of the same. Pss.78 1:49 He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them. Prov.16 1 :4 The LORD hath made all things for himself, yea, even the wicked for the day of evil. Isa.45 1:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and I create EVIL: I the LORD do all these things. These versus are just a small fraction taken from the bible.

Can there be good without evil? No the presence of one has the possibility of the other. But what is it that we call evil? Evil is the act of disobedience to God, so we are all evil. Once a dimensional universe was created, with physical laws, and opposites evil had to be a possibility. It was not created, but was present as a choice. Lucifer was not created evil, he became evil when "iniquity was found in him" or lawlessness. Lucifer actually is the Latin name given to him, in Hebrew he is Halel Be Shacar, "Son of the morning". Many have tried to tie him with Satan or in Hebrew "Shatan", and the two may be the same, but Satan is a title, it means Advisory. In Psalms and in job we read about the "council of God", this counsel is much like our adversarial court system in the U.S.A.. The Shatan or Satan would be the prosecutor, This is why it is said Satan is accusing us day and night in front of the Lord. He was not Evil, he was created for the purpose to be a prosecutor. But it is said he became prideful, and plotted to actually supplant Gods creation of man as masters of the earth. It was not heaven he planned to over through, but man who he had his sights on. In Acts he is called "the god of this world", I could go on about this, but I digress from your topic. So simply put, it is not that God created evil, it is just a physical consequence of the physical universe of polar opposites, and is a choice all must make. Never let it be said that God tempts us to do evil, but it is our own free will that we chose to do that which is against God will. Mans heart it is said is evil above anything else.

It depends on your way of thinking. If you think of good as the opposite of evil, then you can come up with that kind of idea. But if you think of goodness as if it is heat and evil as coldness, then there is no way that God created evil. Since evil will just turn out to be the absence of good, which what God is, just as coldness is just the absence of heat.
