Go forth and multiply translated! what is your interpretation?

I see it as having been appropriate in the beginning, when the purpose was to populate the earth. But since we have done that, enough already. I am not sure about governments interfering in the number of children people have..as in China where they are only allowed one child. But then, there are people in my country (US) who have all kinds of children, which I think is too much. I feel it should be up to a couple to decide enough already.
