Two responses with the same number.

So today I was posting some responses and I found that mylot is too slow posting so I minimized the window and started responding to another one. After I finished the second response I sent it to post and then clicked on the minimized one and marked skip the tagging, and then both of my responses got the same number by my name. So I know I didn't get credit for one of them since my number is the same on both responses. I wonder how that happened? It happened to me once before too, and it never changed, the number, and is still the same number on those two responses. Have you ever done it that way, minimized one and started another one and sent it to post and both of them have the same number beside your name?

hmm... I doubt it happened. I have never posted that fast to have that happened. Also, I hardly notice the number. I usually don't remember my post count. I only know that range.. ie 2000+. Once it crosses 3000, then I'll think of it as 3000+. Hee.. I really lazy in remembering.

Oh it happened alright. I saw the numbers myself and know that the second one I posted didn't change the count. It's okay though.

haha.. then maybe you should post a little slower.. Or maybe the post count will be credited (2 times) on your next post entry?

Another response here says that maybe I already posted a response to the discussion before so it keeps the same count. And I think she could be right. I respond to my friends discussions that I get emails for, and then I respond to the mylot digest and sometimes the discussion looks familar but I respond to it anyways. So I have responded to the same discussion twice and that could be what happened again.

Wow, that's strange. I haven't really noticed but I'll look out for it. I use Firefox as my browser when surfing from my computer and many times I will have different disussions opened on different tabs. I wonder if this is suppressing my post count.

I just tested it out and it looks like I am getting credit for posting to multiple discussions at the same time using Firefox...wheew

Maybe it is. You might want to watch for it as you are posting more than one at a time since you are using several windows.

Hi chris, I have come across the same case as you mentioned here many times. When I found the posting number remained the same after posting I usually would go through the responded pages and I found that I had responded this discussion before. If I checked out I hadn’t responded to this discussion before I then came to know that the discussion I had responded before was deleted. I had noticed that once my posting number didn’t go up even though I had posted several posts then. I realized that many discussions I had responded earlier were deleted in the same day. I know no matter how careful I try to pick discussions to answer I’m still bound to be unlucky to have posts deleted unexpectedly. posting and take care.

Thanks for clearing this up for me. You are probably right about my posting a response already on it, so it would keep the same number. I post responses to my friends discussions and later, some times a month later, I respond to the mylot digest discussions and sometimes it is from one of my friends and I don't notice till after I respond.

I've had that happen. But only because I am getting my perfectly legitimate posts deleted for no reason. I just deal with it.
