Best response time

United States

The unresolved folder was into 2 pages and a lot of discussions hadn't seen activity in a long time. I decided to go through and mark some best responses. A couple were easy with some comments standing out above the crowd. Most were really tough. If it was just a matter of several good but similar comments I'd go with first in but so many gave widely different views that were equally good. It's tough to decide. Does everybody find it this tough or did I just luck out with some really intelligent friends?

I have a terrible time choosing my BRs. As I'm originally receiving them, I'll think this one will be my BR. Then I'll wait 7-14 days to actually give out the BR. When I go back & reread the responses I always find 3 or 4 that are excellent responses. Then I stress over which one is actually the BEST!!! Sometimes I wonder if I don't put too much effort into my decision. However, I truly appreciate the time & effort some people put into their responses. I can tell when it's MORE than an off the cuff answer & I DO appreciate it!!!

Therein lies my dilemma (a word I thought I knew until I typed it 4 different ways and finally grabbed the dictionary). Some answers are obviously quick posts to build numbers. Others show a true understanding of the subject. Others show thought and consideration for the questions. Some bring out points I never thought of in the subject(these are often easiest to mark BR). Most of the time I will have several responses fitting one or more of these criteria. I end up rereading the top 3 or 4 several times and still feel bad about the decision. I already rate folks answer + for most of them because, as long as they are sticking to the spirit of good conversation I think their fine. I ignore some when they seem to be copying others or not really posting on the subject. I rarely give negatives and then only when the person is mean spirited or abusive. BR is the only way to rate those who really get into the subject and I can only give it to one. It just ain't fair.

I sure am glad you brought this up as I got behind on doing mine while Mom was so sick. Since her passing, I've been trying to get caught up on things in real. When I looked, I have 4 pages needing BRs awarded. Guess what I'll be doing all afternoon!!!

I find it tough sometimes and sometimes it is easy..It really depends on the topic too..I have left some of mine unchecked because I can't decide or what the topic was about was not addressed, I get those sometimes. All you can do is check one and hope that it was a good choice or leave it, maybe you will have a big winner later on..

Going through the list I did find 1 or 2 that hadn't had a really good response yet and along with several that I found new things to respond to I left them unresolved. I guess I'll just have to go back and revive them with comments every once in a while until I get a response I think is worthy of the BR
