If you get the paper and check the sales, prioritize the deals you want, and be prepared for hassles and tension; you can actually save money, especially on "big ticket" items. Staples will have a laptop computer, probably under $500, but each store will only get about 6, so if the store opens at 6 you'll need to be there around 5-5:30 and get in line. Most of the "deals stores hold are special items, and some hide them around the stores to make it tougher, plus most sales that day only last an hour or 2 then the sale items change, research what you're after ahead of time, and be prepared with a back up. It can be fun but can also be stressful, and in some areas, even dangerous. Good luck! I'll be working, and where I work the employees are not eligible for the specials, so I'll have to pass on the deals this year.
