what is the essence of christianity for you?

Being a christian is definitely a blessing for some people. They are closer to God because they are loyal and faithful to His words and thus have earned His favor. As I have come to think of it, what should be the ideal way of living out a christian life? I think that it should be living by God's words and helping the lost, the hopeless and non-belivers find their ways to God. I think that being saved just isn't enough. We should also help save as mny of our brothers and sisters as we can.

I'd just like to clarify that we could never earn God's favor and that it is only by His grace that we have a relationship with Him..
as to the essence of Christianity, I believe it's all about our relationship with God and our goal of becoming like Christ.. That's why we're called CHRISTians, and following Him and becoming more like Him is our goal.. In the process, as we become more like Christ, we glorify God because other people would see Christ in us...
