Ever looked at photo's of yourself & said WTF was I thinking at the time?

You know the ones..... You're dressed like a complete tosser, or your hair looks like something out of a 1980's yearbook photo; or you are the only one in the picture that is making some stupid face, or your eyes are closed or something..... I have seen photgraphs of myself as a teenager for example wearing the most ridiculous outfits to the point where if I was able to go back in time and meet myself, I would have probably kicked my own backside! What about you? Ever seen a photo of yourself that makes you want to run and hide? I have one of me riding a mechanical bull while wearing a Superman cape and a padded bra but that's a different discussion altogether! (Well actually this is not true at all but I do have one of me and my dog and we are both wearing Batman capes)

I know what you mean I recently saw a photo of me back at my first school and thought what the hell was my mum thinking. If that wasn't bad enough it's on Facebook as well but lucky for me everyone else on there is commenting on their own appearance.

That's the spirit graybilly, blame Mum! At least on Facebook everyone gets to share in your shame! Lucky for you people are self abosrbed as per usual and favouring their own pictures over your own; but laugh and the world laughs with you remember? This is a new interest categroy called panda spanking where the goal is to make fun of yourself and others so embrace situations like these I say! Thanks for the response and welcome to mylot too.

Not so much in what I am weraing but I have lost a lot of weight lately and I look at some photos and think how fat I was. Its good in a way because it shows how much I have lost. When I compare photos of me now to a few years ago I look aneorexic lol.

It seems then that you are one of these ugly duckling to swan transformation cases then if you feel that your past photgraphs are so unflattering! Thanks for the response. Now this is the panda spanking interest category so I am supposed to say something silly now. Hmmm...... Does your hubby ask you to keep all the lights off in the house all the time? If so, it may be time to take a recent photo then and compare it to the older ones!

Yes, I have many photos of me that makes me feel depressed. I have school photos that don't even look nothing like me at all. They look like someone else. I even have photos of me now, that does not look anything like me at all. I hate for anyone to see these of me.. My worst hated was the ones where I used to wear those big old granny's glasses that looked like Coca Cola bottles caps.. they were so big.. They made me look older than I was..

Now you gotta love the Coca Cola bottle Granny glasses yes? Some would call them classics! No, VINTAGE! lol. School photo's too can be very funny indeed; especially if they are from the 70' or 80's! I see myself in photo's during the 80's and I look like a "fashion cat" hocked up a furball! Thanks for the response.

Oh, you mean like the one where I was in my housecoat, hair not yet combed and my daughter comes into the room from behind me and says "Mom?" and I turned around and said "What" only to be blinded by the flash? Film was an expensive luxury when I was younger, so I don't have too many pictures that I wasn't dressed up and posed to suit my Mother, but my kids have taken some doozies of me.

This discussion caused me to get a box of pictures out and go through to find all the pictures of me. OMG! I have made some of the worst choices in hair cuts! I was going to take the worst one and scan it in and put it here, but I thought better of it*L* I had just had a haircut and perm. It was called a pyramid cut. I don't know WHAT I was thinking when I agreed to the cut or the perm. But, oh well. We live, we make mistakes and we learn from them.............most of the time. Right? I did find some great pictures of my kids that they are going to hate to see me pull out to show their kids, someday. So thanks for bringing up the subject.

There aren't many photo's og myself that I like at all to be honest. The bad haircut ones are classsic sthough, you've gotta admit! Especially the ones when we were very young and our Parents were the ones who instructed hairdressers what to do. Sopme of these haircuts are SO bad, it's as if our Parents arranged them like this purposely just for a laugh!

You're lucky in my opinion, as I reckon the boys get it far worse than the girls do. We get the bowl cut for God's sake! if you're not familiar with this one, it's like the hairdresser has placed a bowl on our heads and then just cut around the base of it! lol. And then of course we get the overzealous Parents that choose to give us the buzz cut..... As for the girls, the worst you have to deal with are one of the two B's..... Bangs or a bob!

LOL... What a way to keep the group alive! Bang on! Kudos... I just remembered one of the old photos that have our sisters, brothers ranging from 2 to 25, all perfectly decked up for a family heritage group photo on which we would take pride in to our grandchildren. And look there, who's that one little girl in pre teens who could be well mistaken as 10 11 year old in a short skirt, dab of mud on her face, hair most unorganized with a badminton racket in hand. Now that's me! But I could ever find the answer as to why I am dressed so shabbily and almost terrorised to stand right in the middle!! I still do not have any answer. My mom says, I was playing and completely oblivion of what's happening around some uncle lifted me from the ground and dropped me there in the middle!

It is the streak of mud that represents your thirst for the achievement of individuality mimpi. And at such a young age too! Very impressive. The badminton racquet was more than likely a visual metaphor attesting to your ongoing quest to swat all of life's adversities back in the direction from whence they came! You should frame this photograph and hang it in a prominent position as a testament to your uniqueness in this world! Thanks for the response.

Ah, wanderer! We have interacted before so I may of course share with you the purpose of this new "panda spanking" interest category! If you want to say something silly or just plain weird then here is the place to do it! No questions, no explnations required...... Just let it on out! A bubble perm sounds like an absolute delight I must admit! Did you have the flourescent socks on to match that skirt? The dog looked fantastic in the cape I might add; but I looked better. Heya calyxus! A word or warning..... This new interest category is for people to let loose with some silly and crazy comments every once in a while without having to explain themselves. No offensive or cruel stuff and just plain fun. We all need to let loose once in a while so if you are someone that enjoys the same every now and then, add the interest category and let it rip! I wonder what you were looking at during that picture then that no-one else seems to have noticed? They may be making lots of fun about it but at least you got to be the unique one in the photo! lol. I am supposed to make some silly comment now because this IS the panda spanking category...... Hmmmmm. OK. HEY! I put a lot of effort into that 80's coupe and I love it! LOL! I know what you mean, there must be some silly photographs of me out there, I have to ponder for a while to think of the worst ones. I do remember a silly photoshoot with my neice, we acted silly on purpose and we made a picture of us throwing darts and mine ended up in the floor because I throw like a girl . Fortunatly I AM a girl so I didn't feel that bad, lol! Straight after that we made a pic where I threw my hand up in the air, tightly closed my eyes and smiled like a complete histerical person who had just won something huge (whilst my dart arrow was also photographed in the floor). I am not sure if that paints you a picture but it's really odd

Ah, you know James, those ordinary pictures are well hid from the world! LOL! Or actually, I do dust them of and use them for job interviews and such . I agree, we should be positive. There is a Dutch saying that 'we need to pretend someone to be someone". It's based on the psychological effect that we try to act like people who are superior to us in a certain way that we want to develop ourselves, so we pretend to know things or talk differently so that eventually we will become a part of this group. It's a pretty complicated theory, so I see why people would rather throw around the saying .

Hahahaha! You are pretty funny. Somebody has a picture of me that I would not like to run from, I would like to tear it up. I am wearing a ponytail on top of my head that I have teased straight up in the air. I am also wearing a florescent purple zebra striped leotard, with a skin tight purple miniskirt. My boots have spike heels and one of them has black ink spots all over it but the other one does not. (There was a black marker on the floor of my closet once when I tossed my boots in and it made a big, perfect circle on the boot. I loved them sooo much I could not bring myself to throw them away, so I just made matching spots all over the boot, leaving the other one plain... just to be cute.) What fools we mortals be! LOL!
