Well its not really my back but I've got pain in my buttocks lol so basicly my a*ss hurts. SO I checked and found out I've got ischias or lumbar. OK its possible, so I checked why could i got that and get some information about it. It can be stress related or also some sort of a spinal damage or some other reasons. But what stroke me like a hammer on a head was: it occurs with aging. So this means Im getting old. Hm, maybe Im just stressed and its not age related LOL

I thought I am the only one experiencing a pain in my back (the buttocks of course). But it turns out I am not alone. So, what is actually a lumbar/ischias? Is it dangerous? I never go to the doctor because I am reluctant to do so. You see, I am afraid of the hospitals and clinics. This is silly, I know but my experience when I stayed in the hospital and the treatment I received from a clinic were not pleasant at all, so it left a phobia in me to go there again. I often feel pain on the buttock especially when I sit down long hours and on a hard surface such as a wooden chair. I would feel less painful if I sit on my bed. That's why I like doing my work on the bed. If I sit more than 2 hours on a hard surfaced chair, I don't feel the pain when I am sitting. But, when I want to get up, I can't get up immediately and easily. Somebody else have to pull me up or else I would feel very painful on the buttocks. I can get up on my own too, but it takes time. I have to lean forward first, and let the pain subside. Then I will get up slowly. The pain will disappear as soon as I stand up. Yes, I think I am having stress now and that is the reason for the pain. But I am worried too when you said it is because of aging factor. I don't want to be old yet. he he.. About the spinal damage, is it dangerous and what can we do to cure the problem? I am quite worried after reading your post. Anyway, thanks for sharing your information. At least now I know I can share this problem with you. Take care.

It is the same thing as Sciatica- a pinched nerve. (just in German I believe) I have some helpful hints to getting up, you are not using proper body mechanics dear and could do more harm then good. When sitting Try and put a few books under your feet so your feet are flat and you are even, You can put a pillow on the seat, behind your back too and under your knees. when possible elevate your feet so that you dont get swollen. If you have one - get a tennisball and freeze it and put it on that sciatic nerve right where it hurts on your butt. Instead of leaning forward, scoot your butt to the end of the chair and use your legs to push up having people pull you up is going to hurt them too. The spinal damage, well often requires surgery, but there is a lot that can be said from doing physical therapy and activity. If you can, go to a Physical therapist ask for POOL THERAPY, but if you are not up to that, try and go to a POOL with a friend and use one of those fun noodles or a kick board and put it under your arms and just FLOAT! KEEP MOOOVING, you dont have to do an hour workout, swimming can help too. or walking in water just above the waist - in a heated pool. Last resort is surgery and that will help ease that pain in your buttocks. I have had 22 yrs of back problems and chronic pain, I have had 3 back surgeries, and then recently surgery 6 times for a spinal stimulator. In all the years before the stimulators, I had numerous epidural pain blocks and years of pool and physical therapy. and Medication for pain I am 45 and I feel like I finally got my life back with the stimulators, all starting from a back injury at work. Now i just like to try and help others and encourage them to do what I didnt know about! Msg me if you like and I would be happy to help and answer more questions. God Bless and good luck!

This isnt necessary a pinched nerv or doesnt even have to do with the injury it can also be stress related...the nerv get inflamed and puts pressure to the spine and that causes pain, which is exactly what you described. In some more severe cases it can lead to pinched nerv. It of course can also be from an injury or slipped disk or many other reasons. I have been to a doctor and dont have any spinal damage but I should rest when this happens, it happens once or twice a year usually when it gets a bit colder and as I dont like the cold I think my back reacts to that lol I heard that once you get this its never over it keeps repeating its not like you can cure it. I hope thats not true. Well I dont want to be old either hehehe, so i just dont take that aging thing seriously Im sure its a mistake Im_tiggs gave quite some good advices of how to help our spine from taking all the pressure. Thank you Im_tiggs! I think we have to stretch and try not to sit for too long and just let our spine to take a rest, meditating or just lying would help to get rid of a stress and that might also help. I hope it wont be to painful and that it will go away soon ;)

Ahh, that's too bad. Once the a$$ pain starts it's all down hill from there. The only suggestion I have is to sit on a pillow or a heating pad and try not to sit too far back on your butt. Sit putting the weight almost on your thighs with your back nice and straight. Or you could get one of those little inflatable donuts!

At I home I actually do use a pillow hehe, but I cant at my work, it would look funny. So I just stand up often and walk a bit and then back to work.

Have you injured your back at all? You will know if it is sciatica if you have pain going across your back and down legs and towards your feet. could be a muscle twinge? If you can provide a little more info then I would be happy to help you. OSCHIAS - IS SCIATICA - which means you have a pinched nerve...did you look this up and figure for yourself or get it checked? let's hope it isnt serious and then all will be OK!

Yes i have it checked and they say its not pinched nerve. The pain is mostly in my left buttocks and sometimes I also feel it down my legs. Then i usually try to massage my leg and it releases the pain. I feel no pain in my back and is still very flexible with no pain at all, its just my left buttock that really hurt. I do believe its an inflated nerve but i dont know what is the reason that this happens in a first place. if it would be an injury I could understand it now I dont. Thanks for the good thoughts!

I was thinking it must be children... that's where mine comes from... and sadly I mean it literally. I broke my tailbone in childbirth... and have never been the same. Oh my aching a$$.

Ouch that hurts! Yes it is never the same, everyone says that it heals reelly long time. This summer (june) I fell on the stairs directly on my tailbone...gosh that hurt, I didnt break it but it hurt for months, still does if i sit for too long :/
